Sept 27 CBOC

We are holding a public meeting on Tuesday, September 27 at 5:30 pm at the Ed Park cafeteria for the Citizens Bond Oversight Committee.

Background information:

An advisory committee to the District’s Governing Board, called the Citizens Bond Oversight Committee was established pursuant to the requirements of State law and the provision of Measure E and Measure W. A Bond Oversight Committee is required when a district options for a passage rate of 55% voter approval, rather than a two-thirds majority vote to approve the bond. However, since the pandemic, the committee hasn’t been functional and has not met--the district promoted the search for new committee members and received no applications.  We continue the process of getting a committee together to be in compliance with state requirements.

Discussion:

Seeking new members:  (1) You must reside within the boundaries of DUSD and be 18 years of age or older; (2) You can not be an employee or do business with DUSD; (3) The Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee is an appointed subcommittee of the Delhi Unified Board of Trustees to review the financial activities and audit reports of General Obligation Bonds that were approved by the community in 2012 (aka Measure E) and 2016 (aka Measure W). The committee generally meets once a year to review the audit reports on the two Bonds, and will report back to the Board of Trustees. The Committee could meet more frequently if necessary.

Applications available online or in person.
